\n\u00a0“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me..\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>
\nIt is the most requested column I’ve ever written.”<\/em><\/strong>
\n 
\nMy odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
\n 
\n1. Life\u00a0isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
\n 
\n2. When in doubt, just take the\u00a0next small step.
\n 
\n3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.Change the way you think.
\n 
\n4. Your job won’t take care of you when\u00a0you are sick. Your friends and family will. Stay in touch.
\n 
\n5. Pay\u00a0off your credit cards every month..
\n 
\n6. You don’t have to win every\u00a0argument. Agree to disagree.
\n 
\n7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing\u00a0than crying alone.
\n 
\n8. Release your children when they become\u00a0adults, it\u2019s their life now
\n 
\n9. Save for retirement starting with\u00a0your first pay cheque.
\n 
\n10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance\u00a0is futile.
\n 
\n11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the\u00a0present.
\n 
\n12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.
\n 
\n13.Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is\u00a0all about.
\n 
\n14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t\u00a0be in it.
\n 
\n15. Everything can change in the blink of an\u00a0eye.
\n 
\n16. Take a deep breath It calms the mind.
\n 
\n17. Get rid\u00a0of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
\n 
\n18. Whatever\u00a0doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.<\/p>\n

\n19. It’s never too\u00a0late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you\u00a0and no one\u00a0else.

\n20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t\u00a0take no for an answer.
\n 
\n21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets,\u00a0wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is\u00a0special.
\n 
\n22. Just because you believe you are right, doesn’t mean\u00a0you are. Keep an open mind.
\n 
\n23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for\u00a0old age to wear purple.
\n 
\n24. The most important sex organ is the\u00a0brain.
\n 
\n25. No one is in charge of your happiness but\u00a0you.
\n 
\n26.. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ‘In five\u00a0\u00a0years, will this matter?’

\n27. Always choose life.
